About Le Port (La Réunion)
The Mairie du Port is the municipal institution of the commune of Le Port, a French local authority located on Réunion Island, an overseas department and region in the Indian Ocean. The commune is situated in the north-western part of the island, along the coastline, and forms one of the urban centres of the Réunion metropolitan area. It belongs to an intercommunal grouping comprising several neighbouring communes in the western part of the island.

The Mairie du Port exercises the powers assigned to French communes, particularly regarding civil registration, urban planning, management of public facilities, social welfare, education at the level of nursery and primary schools, as well as maintenance of roads and municipal public spaces. It also organises electoral processes and issues various administrative documents to residents.
