About Ploërmel
Ploërmel is a French municipality located in the Morbihan department, in the Brittany region. Situated in the eastern part of the department, close to the Paimpont forest associated with the Brocéliande legend, it holds a crossroads position between the urban areas of Rennes, Vannes and Redon. The municipality functions as a secondary urban centre within Morbihan and provides central services, businesses and public facilities to the surrounding rural territories.
The history of Ploërmel dates back to the Middle Ages, a period during which the town played a notable role in the Duchy of Brittany, occasionally serving as a residence for Breton dukes.
