The Department of Seine-Maritime is a French territorial authority belonging to the Normandy region, located in the northwest of the country. Its territory extends along the estuary and valley of the Seine river to the English Channel, encompassing contrasting urban, port, coastal and rural areas. The prefecture is established in Rouen, the central city of the departmental administrative organization, while several sub-prefectures structure the territory into districts.
