Sobre Communauté d'agglomération - Arlysère
The Communauté d'agglomération Arlysère is a French local authority classified as a public establishment for intercommunal cooperation (EPCI). It is located in the department of Savoie, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and brings together a group of municipalities organized around the town of Albertville, which serves as its main urban center. Its creation resulted from the merger of several pre-existing intercommunal structures within the same living area, as part of successive reforms of the French intercommunal map aimed at building coherent territories for planning and local public services.
Arlysère's territory covers a varied alpine area, combining urban zones, valley towns and mountain spaces, giving it notable geographic and economic diversity. The authority exercises the competences typically assigned to agglomeration communities, such as economic development, spatial planning, housing, water and sanitation management, as well as policies concerning mobility, tourism and environmental protection. It also supports shared cultural, sports and social facilities at the intercommunal level, complementing the actions carried out by member municipalities individually.
As an intermediate level between municipalities and departmental or regional authorities, Arlysère plays a coordinating role, carrying structuring projects that go beyond the municipal scale, particularly in urban planning, tourism development linked to the alpine valleys, and natural resource management. Its community council, composed of elected representatives from member municipalities, defines the strategic and budgetary orientations of the authority, within the framework of the competences granted by law and by the establishment's statutes. The website arlysere.fr is the official institutional portal of the authority, presenting its missions, news, governing bodies and information about the services and procedures available to residents of the territory.
