The Département of Creuse is a French territorial authority with departmental status, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Established in 1790 during the national administrative reorganization, it takes its name from the river that runs through it and historically belongs to the former province of Limousin. Its administrative center is the town of Guéret, which houses the department's main institutions, including the departmental council's headquarters and administrative services.
