The Mairie de Menton is the administrative institution representing the commune of Menton, a French local authority located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Situated at the eastern edge of the French Riviera, on the border with Italy, the commune enjoys a distinctive geographical position between the Mediterranean Sea and the pre-Alpine mountains, which has shaped its urban development and territorial identity over the centuries. Formerly under the authority of the Principality of Monaco before being annexed to France in the nineteenth century, Menton has retained an architectural and cultural heritage reflecting this shared past between Monegasque, Italian and French influences.
